MOTUL SPORT 5W40 5L
Motul SPORT 5W50 is 100% Ester synthetic engine oil. Designed to be used in tuned petrol engines, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, regardless of fuel type or quality including race fuels and ethanol up to E85. Perfectly suited to engines originally requiring 0W20, 5W20, 0W30, 5W30, 0W40, 5W40 & 10W40 and especially those exposed to moderately high fuel dilution in the oil.
The bloodline to Motul 300V Motorsport Line will be evident with consistent oil pressure even at high oil temps, unbreakable film strength and smooth and responsive power delivery.
Motul Sport 5W50 is a cost effective option over Motul 300V for engines on E85 with reduced drain intervals of 3000kms or less.
If higher than expected fuel dilution is occurring, move up to Motul 6100 Synergie 15W50 or 8100 X-power 10W60 to compensate for the drop in viscosity as a temporary solution. Motul recommends investigating the cause of high dilution and rectifying it as soon as possible.
For highly tuned engines and motorsport, use Motul 300V for the ultimate in performance and protection no matter how extreme the engine is.
Use Motul 8100 X-cess 5W40 or 6100 Synergie 15W50 for tuned pushrod engines with mild cam profiles (Lift, duration, ramp) and/or moderate valve spring pressure (<180psi) and/or flat tappet lifters requiring more than 1100ppm of Zinc.
NOTE: Do not use Zinc additives. More than approximately 1200ppm of Zinc is ineffective, negatively impacting other wear protection additives and is considered Zinc saturation or Zinc dosing. If cam wear occurs, investigate mechanical or oil flow issues. Consult Motul.
High quality engine oil flush additives are encouraged, however do not use leave-in additives ('performance improvers') with any Motul engine oil products.
