With the goal of developing a muffler for the 11th generation Civic that would improve power performance, produce a pleasant sound, and obtain JQR certification, we began development.
The requirements for a muffler are sufficient exhaust flow rate and sound dampening performance. To ensure sufficient exhaust flow rate, the diameter must be increased, bends reduced, and resistance reduced. High sound dampening performance can be achieved by installing multiple silencers or by increasing exhaust resistance through smaller diameters, thereby reducing sound energy. In order to satisfy the conflicting demands of improved output and sound dampening performance, we conducted theoretical studies on pipe diameter, silencer shape and placement on a flow bench, and tested many prototypes until we finally completed a muffler kit that we were satisfied with.
The tail section features SPOON SPORTS' standard "N1 silencer" with two outlets, just like the stock muffler. A bumper garnish is included so that the muffler blends naturally with the vehicle body.
This kit replaces the front pipe and main muffler from the catalytic converter onwards, and is designed with boost-up and high-flow turbocharger upgrades in mind, ensuring sufficient exhaust flow while also obtaining JQR certification.

What we had in mind when we started developing this 11th generation CIVIC muffler was (of course) improved power performance and a nice(r) sound along with the JQR certification. Any muffler needs to secure a sufficient exhaust flow and low noise levels.
A larger diameter increases the exhaust flow rate, and fewer curves for less resistance. Installing multiple silencers along with reducing the diameter also helps reduce that sound energy.
As it conflicts as it sounds, we think we managed to find the balance between improving the output and reducing the sound. After examining the pipe diameter and silencer shape, running multiple tests with various prototypes, we finally made an all-around satisfying product.
